Austin | 14th & Guadalupe | 430' | 31-Stories | Proposed

The ATX

Here's another new one.  It's a 428', 31-story office building.  The elevations were posted on a City website today.

This now makes 38 towers either underway or proposed that are at least 300' plus five more that have been completed this year.  This also means that there are 17 towers underway or proposed that are at least 400', plus three more that have been completed this year.   There are several more towers with permits filed that I haven't counted yet because the heights and floor counts have not been released.

An update was posted in the Austin Business Journal.  This one will have 275 residential units in addition to office space.  Residential over office seems to be the latest trend in Austin towers.  Also, a historical building on the site will be incorporated into the project.

The one on the left is the historical building, and the one on the right is toast.

New elevations were released for this project.  It went from a flat top rectangle to a more interesting design with a sloped mechanical screen.  It also went from  mostly residential with some office to all office.  The timing of that decision probably wasn't the best in today's burgeoning "work from home" environment.
