Hmmmm....I don't see any mention in the article about a 3rd tower.  We have surmised that there MIGHT be one in the future, but there has been no announcement.  The 535,000 sq. ft. office tower mentioned in the piece is the one that was announced last year.

Nope, but they certainly have room on the 7th Ave side and Taylor and I think there will be one, but I am with you there is no mention in this article. This is just a rehash of Fridays news that the NBJ was late on.

Still working on permits. They’ve also applied to consolidate the parcels for the site of the office tower.

Planning staff is recommending approval with conditions of the Overall Height Modification for the residential tower by the Planning Commission at the upcoming meeting on August 26th.

Here are two old photos at the Circle South location.  I remember when they razed the small apartment building. next to the magnolia tree when they built the Convention Center.  I think I recall the Esso station and RC Cola sign  from when I was a kid in the 50s.  The new buildings site is located just beyond the Esso sign and at the RC cola billboard.  The small photo would have been taken  about in the middle of the Stix roundabout looking down 8th Avenue..  The other is looking down Lafayette.  I think the Esso Station was where the parking lot is on the north side of Lea Street  The pumps would have been parallel to 8th Avenue in what is now part of the Stix Roundabout.

I did find this little tidbit on a leasing site with the square footage, year available, and leasing agents. So it looks as if they hope to have the office portion open by 2024.

A 2024 opening would mean that they would be starting within the next 6-8 months, yeah?

The overall height modification for the residential building was approved with conditions at last nights meeting.

I definitely think the office building moves first. I haven’t seen anything in the way of grading permits applied for the residential project yet, while the permitting for the office tower has been underway for a while.

It will take a lot longer to build the office tower than the residential tower, so it could start a year from now and finish at the same time.

BTW, something could be brewing across the street at Cannery Row.  There seems to be a lot of utility markings and core drilling prep in the rear parking lot by Palmer and I suspect where Storyville recording is. There were plans at one time for a office building there but that may have changed to something else now.

These owners are out of NY. There are other things seemingly happing around town, but I need to keep my trap shut right now until I am sure.
