Generally speaking, it's not an issue. Coordinating construction projects in tight confines happens all the time. But there are complications that can make construction harder, which means more expensive. Are roadways going to be closed at the time you need deliveries of material? Is it possible to coordinate traffic control? Are you going to have to schedule around loss of utilities, namely power?

Timing is also an important issue. If you are a private developer who has financed a nine-figure development, then you have to be able to have control of when you can start leasing/selling, when your building opens, etc. or else you stand to lose a lot of money. It wouldn't do to spend most of your loan on getting to 75% completion of a building then have to stop for an adjacent utility project to be completed, even more so when they have no incentive to finish sooner. There are plenty of projects, and developers by extension, that get broken on unexpected changes in the middle of construction.

Unsure to the first question. As to the second one, that project may be on a different sewer line.

I've been following this one like a hawk!!!  If it ever starts, I'll lose my mind!  Sometimes it feels as if it's the plug holding up the flow.  In my feeble mind, once it goes, several dominos will follow!  Giddy-up!!!

That is an amazingly great sign! 

How many proposed/approved projects are there total now for the "Sticks" area? 

Four or Five separate ones or more? 

Once they start shovels in ground, this area will be the next major skyline-altering downtown hot spot.

Agreed.  If/when this one, 800 Lea, and the Ritz project start rising, the skyline will be immediately and tremendously transformed.

Right--you'll have these new skyscrapers:

Circle South office tower: 443 feet

Circle South residential: roughly 250-270 feet 

Ritz Carlton hotel tower: roughly 570 feet

Ritz Carlton residential: roughly 350 feet

800 Lea (Giaratanna curved tower): roughly 610 feet

And there's room for more in that specific area, and some I might be missing.

So in terms of the ones directly touching the roundabout (800 Lea, Circle South office, and Ritz Carlton hotel), if you're standing in the roundabout it'd be like being surrounded by the Batman building, The Four Seasons (+30ft), and the Snodgrass tower.

Yes, we will see the roundabout as hopefully 1 of 3 significantly tall new highrise clusters over the next few years.  The other 2 being Church St with Yards and Tony G's towers and also the Peabody/KVB developments (Tishman, Centrum, and 2nd & Peabody, along with continuation of Rolling Mill Hill).  Of course that doesn't include the Broadway car lots or anything on the east bank; just stuff in SoBro/traditional CBD.  Insane to really envision it all.

Ahh, that's a good snapshot overall.

I'd imagine the Reed District towers should start construction in the next year or so?

Hopefully sooner rather than later. That project is super exciting and just elevating a "meh previous usage" into an exciting live/work destination, connecting midtown to downtown.

My guess is they may use that building for a work office during construction. It was not part of the original footprint of the building and bought as an afterthought.
