Proposed improvements to the Lafayette and Peabody intersection. All the work appears to be north of Lafayette, so @LA_TN is probably right in that Metro would not require monies for this improvement. The turning angle is still awkward coming from Lafayette southbound and the lack of crosswalk across Peabody is discouraging, but it this appear schematic, and thrown out there for thought.

We finally have renderings for this massive project.  Only one shows the residential tower (looks to be 34 stories, about 330'), but the bulk of what has been released today is regarding the 30 story,

Well, yes, sort of.  But the editors must be on furlough or did not awake from their slumber long enough to detect this typo in a headline today on page 8A.

Roundabouts can be right next to each other.  Whether that's too much for Nashville drivers might be the better question.

Multiples of those probably aren't a great solution for a dense urban area since when they get too complex it's kind of like plopping a miniature highway interchange into the middle of a neighborhood... but I am a big believer in roundabouts as a traffic control solution, so I'd love to see Nashville build more of them, and perhaps even some of these double beasts a bit further out!

Both of those posts show good solutions for moving cars. But the lack of pedestrian mobility is a very large concern. The KVB traffic circle does a good job having crossings at every road entry into it and I would hope that any proposal of major overhaul - such as adding a traffic circle - would include the same

I was just reading back over this, and clicked on that link... if Wikipedia is correct (which, mind you, isn’t necessarily that likely), this would be the 6th tallest inclined building in the world?

Does Lincoln Property Co. need this additional 1.4 acres in order to building Circle South, or can Circle South be built on the 1.7 acres they already own?

One would think that this bodes well for Circle South. Hopefully they keep the iconic leaning design! 
 

Edit, based on the NP article it sounds like they didn’t acquire the entire block. Just the portion directly south of the proposed office tower at 514/522 8th ave S, and 706 Drexel street.

So do they need to purchase that property before they build, or do we have a similar situation RE the Four Seasons where they can build without a sliver of a lot? Thanks again.

Yes! I deal with this frequently. People often have an inflated idea of what a property is worth. Still comes down to comps, but in this case they should have gone for about 15% higher than comps (and they're quite high in Sobro) and then settled for the best offer. They won't get that sort of deal for quite a long time. And even with this development completed, they may not be able to get as much as they do now.

      Lincoln Financial is proposing a significant project the 1 acre site at 4012 Hillsboro Pike:

      -  Appears to be 15 stories (maximum allowed in zoning for that area)
      - 300 residential units, 50 hotel rooms, 36,000 sq. ft. office space, restaurant space
      - Gresham Group and Catalyst Design are involved in design
      - There are 4 small retailers on the site at this time that will be moving.
      - This is immediately to the south of the 19 story Vertis Green Hills.
      - No renderings as of yet.

      Brentwood-based GBT Realty wants to build a two tower (one that could go as high as 20 stories tall) complex near the intersection of West End Ave., Murphy Road, and I-440. To be called 3415 Murphy, it will include 250,000 sq. ft. of Class A office space, 175 hotel rooms, 30,000 sq. ft. of restaurant/retail, and a parking garage on the 1.5 acre site at 3415-3419 Murphy Rd.  The retail/restaurant space would front Murphy Rd., and the hotel/office towers would be toward the back of the lot, along I-440. 

      No renderings as of yet, other than the schematic layout below. Project cost and financing are not clear yet.  Proposed completion date is 2022. Metro Planning Commission is scheduled to review the plan Aug. 9.  The commission's votes are non-binding on Metro Council, where 3 majority votes must occur in order for a requested zoning change to become law.

      Renderings finally released for this Marriott brand extended-stay property for Towneplace Suites at 306 Gay St. (NW corner of Gay and 3rd Ave. North).  Will have 156 suites, and it appears the main entrance will face Gay Street.  A rooftop amenities deck is also featured.  The team will go before Metro Planning Code Design Review Committee on March 1, 2018.

      Overall, I think this is a handsome design.


       
      Here's the uniquely shaped lot this will be built on.  The long portion will be facing Gay Street, featuring street activation.  Also remember that the same developer purchased the octagon-shaped building immediately to the left. Something taller (8-12 stories) could end up there.
