Here are some general downtown Wilmington photos on this spring like Feb. day.  Downtown has never looked so good.   Here are some downtown miscellaneous photos to get this thread started on NC's largest coastal city.   Downtown has historical buildings and high rises, new hotels and high rises, new condos new apartments, apartments over retail etc.

Just watched Hallmark movie USS Christmas filmed primarily in Wilmington.  Funny thing is they show a NYC scene on Front Street and you can clearly see the Waffle House in the background with a computer generated green screen of the Empire State Building.  It was too funny.  Saw the Pilot House on the river too.  Wilmington stands in for both NYC and Norfolk!

Downtown Wilmington is a such a great place in a great city.  So much residential development downtown now and you see all these people jogging and walking dogs that 10 years ago you did not see unless in the historical district.  And the historical district is thriving as well.  Miscellaneous photos from today.   Thalian Hall looks great and does the New Hanover County courthouse.  I can see Wilmington is growing so much with retirees, work from anywhere people and business is growing here too with the port,  Live Oak Bank, nCino,  PPD etc.  Plus I saw a lot filled with movie trailers and tents for food halls for the support staff and people involved in some movie.   31 photos and I have more....

Some  photos of the downtown skyline from the river.   Downtown Wilmington has never looked so good.   If you have not been in a while time for another trip or your first trip.   They are doing some dredging right by the Federal building and working on the riverwalk there.

This is a great image to share. Hopefully you'll share it with the City too so they can potentially use it!

I do wish the hotels north of downtown had better aesthetics, but it puts more feet in the streets, which is always a good thing. I really do think the area is a sleeping giant that is just now being tapped. The port is massive for the future of the state.

Also, I'll be in the area next weekend.

Miscellaneous photos of downtown Wilmington no wonder this city is growing.  It looks better and better even time I visit.   Riverwalk still packing in the visitors and locals alike walking dogs and so forth.  Lots of people living now at the upper end of the riverwalk and I would compare it to Southend of Charlotte but on a major river.  Multiple new apartment complexes with a park with a amphitheater with concerts regularly.

Historical buildings in great numbers mixed in with new construction that matches in many cases.

First visit inside the Wilmington Railroad Museum and it is really nice.  Also miscellaneous shots of downtown.    What happened to Wilmington with the loss of 1800 jobs in 1960 when the population was only 45.000 is unbelievable economic disaster.  Glad the region and city have bounced back and doing better than ever now.
