Not that the rendering necessarily means much, but I'd say the tallest tower is shown as being a good 500 feet tall, considering the lower elevation that it sits at compared to Broadwest.  If it's 44 floors (as Mark counted), it should easily be 500, minimum.

Can't get past paywall.  Does the article state whether the 44 story building will be office or residential?  Office would be closer to 650-680', no?

If residential, then about 80'-100' taller than the Conrad.

Not sure of a figure, yet the article said it would be Midtown's tallest tower if standing today.

I realize a first render and finished product are often as different as a "whisper down the lane" message.  Even so, if we can get anywhere close to this render as a finished product, Midtown wins, the Nashville skyline wins, Nashville wins, and we faithful few win!!!

Something I appreciate with this proposal is they kept their agreement with Broadwest to try and mitigate view loss. Obviously people should be prepared for their view to be lost in a growing city, but leaving space in the center of the development and placing the tallest tower furthest away, all while still making a stellar proposal, seems like a great way to please both sides. It's hard to make two sides happy, but I think they did a pretty good job in this case.

The office tower in the middle of Broadway is roughly the same height as the Broadwest office tower at 326’. The tall tower close to the interstate is at least 15 stories taller than that putting the est. height around 486-500’ range IMO give or take. Its hard to tell from images as scale is hard to determine.

Sometimes I feel like if all of these projects are adding new hotel brands to the city (as they seemingly all have hotel components) then every brand under the sun will be in Nashville in 10 years. There’s already Grand Hyatt, Westin, Omni, Virgin, JW Marriott, Conrad, W, Four Seasons, Edition, Ritz Carlton and probably more down the line. This is great and all but I hope more developers focus on condos and mixed use as downtown’s population is supposed to explode.

Hine is one of the best developers of office tower in the country.  Look at their new Texas Tower in downtown Houston.  They are first class for sure.

Welcome to Texas Tower, an Evolution of the Office Experience.  and this is being built in a city with one of the highest vacancies in office space.  But there is a flight to quality buildings that are new and lots of amenities.  

Barings the money behind this is based in Charlotte and they have their own development firm Spectrum Properties which co-developed Fifth and Broadway.

I have heard some of these projects have corporate relocations attached to them but I have no idea if that is true or not. One of my good friends from high school's dad is on the city council

I think you are correct, although it doesn’t even have to be a corporate relocation to justify it.  Amazon, Oracle, and Capgemini weren’t technically “relocations” but were instead expansions.  I have zero inside knowledge into this, but before this latest round of office proposals got real Nashville had a hard time providing large blocks of space.  When there’s a 90+% occupancy rate there’s nowhere to put 500 or 1000 employees.
 

As these new buildings come online that isn’t an issue anymore.  Commitments, even if they aren’t public, allow these buildings to move forward with financing. Some on here have rightfully questioned the viability of all the new office space being proposed or built.  What may be driving those proposals forward are non-public expansions/relocations with Capgemini being the latest example to make it to the rumor stage.

I think we are more than likely looking at expansions right now, although there could be some  weird exceptions to this. I can't say much right now as I have heard some rumors that are sort of relo/expansion. It's hard to explain. 

Another could be expansion.

 

Also with Amazon and Oracle locating here, there will be a lot of companies expanding to be close to their offices. Some of these may have nothing to do with Amazon or Oracle!
