Church buildings are a hard item to convert to another use. This is a good idea.

If people feel weird living or working in a church, why don't they use the church itself as the lobby, and blow out a wall in the back or on the sides and build a new structure around it (if there is room to do so)?

it is a little eerie at bonterra, where the altar is now a very well stocked bar.

I much prefer old churches being used for community centers.

i'm not opposed to them being condos or restaurants... just think they are good facilities for little daycare centers or places where smaller church and community groups can meet.
