Rumor is ACE is moving into the former Gators Dockside.

Apparently Toole's tried to get the lease on the old Orchard, but something fell through and ACE decided to go forward with a different franchisee.  Interesting if true because Toole's just opened the Aloma ACE near where a long standing ACE franchisee had once been, and it would be the first new as here in a while that didn't have Toole's as the franchisee.

A new Aldi is coming on Winter Garden-Vineland Road to the back side of Windermere:

From OBJ

Interestingly, the space was first penciled in as a Fresh Market, so an interesting switch in demographics.

Kimco Realty wants to demolish part of the Dr Phillips Marketplace in order to build 850 apartments in a complex that would include an eight-story tower and a parking garage.

The nearby residents are not amused:

Call me a philistine but I liked the Heathrow Gooding’s  with gold carts and the grand piano with accompanying player better.

Its fate (to become a Publix rather than a Winn-Dixie) was also preferable, I think.

I suppose, however, given the way Jim Gooding’s kids mismanaged the chain into decline makes the whole exercise rather like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

Otoh, given Mr. George’s spawn chose to aid and abet the Jan. 6 seditionists, maybe Jim is resting easier in the hereafter.

Where was the Heathrow Goodings?  I thought its the current Winn Dixie on International Pkwy.  Which is why the Winn Dixie by Target closed and Publix moved in there?

Edit:  I guess I have my answer

The Windermere High parents want to move their football stadium on campus, even though the current one in a nearby park is only a few years old. If they do, who pays for it? First world problems, right?

Blame is bouncing back and forth between OCPS, OC staff and current and former county commissioners faster than a tennis ball at the US Open. Stay tuned:
