this new pharma plant in Holly Springs is going to be massive.  First time I heard it will be 2 millions square feet!

""Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies has begun construction on its $2 billion Holly Springs manufacturing facility that will eventually employ 725 people. The company, which operates as a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), will use cell culture manufacturing at this facility to produce large quantities of medicine ready for commercialization.

The site will have end-to-end capabilities to take a product from development through to commercialization, but CEO Martin Meeson said it will likely focus on manufacturing doses of a medicine and then preparing them to be shipped.  The company isn't yet sure which medicines will be produced at the Holly Springs facility – plans for the facility were announced in March after a nationwide search. But there's a broad demand for this type of manufacturing across the pharmaceutical industry, Meeson said.  The facility is expected to cover more than 2 million square feet.""

Met my cousin from Fuquay in downtown Holly Springs (and yes they have built one where really none existed LOL)   Great restaurant Mamma Mia's I would recommend.  That Ting Park is really nice and just found out it was named for a corporate sponsor maybe the Ting company.  Beautiful day in the 'Springs!

Garner getting into the life sciences business with a conversion of old super Kmart into office and life sciences space.

""Once a bustling Kmart Super Center, a retail property in Garner is set to transform into life science space. The site at 4300 Fayetteville Road has been purchased for $14.25 million by Florida-based Mainstreet Capital Partners and a fund managed by New York-based DRA Advisors. Built in 1994, the 180,017-square-foot building sits on 26.73 acres, according to Wake County property records.  Anchored by Kmart until 2013, the building is now mostly empty, and the property has an assessed value of $7.3 million. American Freight Furniture, Mattress & Appliance (formerly known as Sears Outlet) is the only retailer left in the space, which is next to a Walmart. (NYSE: WMT).""

I knew Fuquay Varina was two towns at one time but did not know they still have 2 downtowns one for Fuquay Springs and one for Varina,  Aviator Brewing is taking over downtown Varina and Fuquay is nice too with the Fuquay Spring park and new midrise apartments being built.  Lots of coffee shops and breweries in both downtowns.
