Down in the Springs Holly Springs and of course Fuquay.  Love downtown Holly Springs and their shops and restaurants were packed Friday and downtown Fuquay has the new apartments almost done.   Holly Springs built a new downtown where one really did not exist and Fuquay has 2 both originals that are growing.

Shout out to my to go place for Italian in southern Wake County.

Here is an image from that development at Flowers Plantation and its new Waterfront District.  Really nice.

""Leadership at Flowers Plantation is working on plans for the Waterfront District. The ambitious project plans to bring retail, restaurants, a hotel and up to 300 new residences to a piece of property that sits along N.C. Highway 42. The land sits next to the northeast lake at the Flowers Crossroads.""

Okay this is out in Nash County but close enough to Raleigh.  New movie studio coming to town of  Spring Hope.

""Construction has kicked off on what will be the largest film studio in North Carolina.

Ascent Studios will be located in the Nash County town of Spring Hope about 35 minutes east of Raleigh. The studio will span more than 200 acres at 556 Barbee St. and feature five production stages totaling 170,000 square feet. The land also has exterior shots for fields, forests, roads, barns, lakes and manors.

Ascent Studios is scheduled to complete construction in late 2023. Rippberger said the goal is to eventually have between 10-12 productions a year at the studio, and it could host production for movies or TV shows.

States outside of California have long sought to garner the interest of the film industry, North Carolina included. The state offers a 25 percent tax credit on all labor and equipment, which is paid back as a grant after a film is completed.

There's also a bill in the General Assembly that would give an additional 10 percent in tax credits for films shot in Tier 1 or Tier 2 counties, which would mean films shot in Nash County could receive 35 percent tax credit if the bill becomes law.""

fun fact 4th largest town city in the Triangle after Raleigh Durham Cary is.......  the peak of good living Apex.

New Mixed-Use Development Coming to Downtown Holly Springs: https://www.hollyspringsnc.us/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=1404. Great news for a boomtown that sorely needs more density in the town core.

Meanwhile, I noticed yesterday the long vacant Rite Aid building on the corner of Main and Holly Springs Rd will soon have a new tenant: AutoZone. A whole 1/2 mi from both an Advance and O’Reilly. Great use of prime real estate. [emoji58]

downtown Holly Springs could use a few more apartment buildings like this too.  Fuquay Varina has 2 little downtowns though downtown Fuquay is a little bigger and they have new downtown apartments.  But I like some of those downtown Holly Springs restaurants (my cousin lives over in Fuquay) and they have some nice retail already.

Johnston County has the poorest quality new housing I have ever seen.   I guess they welcome everything down there.  Flowers Plantaion is already falling apart.  The streets and highways are dotted with random entry level plastic new construction with zero landscaping.   That part of thecTriangle is certainly not on par with the western side of Cary, Apex, Chatham County.

some good high paying jobs coming to Oxford.

""An auto dealer is making a large investment in Granville County.

Auction Direct USA is creating 173 jobs in Oxford. The company, which operates used vehicle superstores, is planning a new facility at Oxford Industrial Park that will recondition vehicles to sell to both wholesale customers and at Auction Direct locations.  State officials said Tuesday that the firm picked Oxford for the $2.9 million investment over competing sites in Pennsylvania, Georgia and Maryland. It comes with jobs that pay more than $88,000 in average annual wages. The average wage in Granville County is $48,000.""
