They're keeping one little piece of the ugly green wrap around roof ornament to taunt me.

That's actually a very nice looking building. IDK if it originally had windows on that side, but it sure fits the building very well. Nashville needs to keep its small collection of prewar masonry 4-8 story buildings.

And also an excuse for me to post this rendering, which I like a lot, notwithstanding the 42 garage levels (ok, I exaggerate).  And because it makes the building look like it has 41 stories. 

And this one will be another one over 400'. Yay!

Nothing much new, except for a new layout of the ground floor. All of the retail space has been moved to the corner of 8th/Church and loading moved to 9th. No height on the elevations yet.

Good to see they flipped the loading to 9th. Having it on Rosa Parks was extremely dumb and would've been a nightmare. 3 Elevators for the parking Structure and than 3 Elevators for the Tower is intertesting. Looking at the graphics of the elevator layouts, it would appear the elevators in the top left of the plan are to serve the residences (separated elevator shaft is possibly the emergency access elevator/service elevator), but then again having both egress stairs in the center of the building makes more sense for serving a tower and giving 360 views to the residences. The other possiblity is the elevators in the top left are for the parking structure and the separated shaft is for the underground parking and the other two are for the above ground parking.

If this is done like the SoBro is, the elevators at the top left will serve above/underground parking, and the elevators in the center will be for the residential tower.

That is very logical. Corners in parking garages are tragically inefficent, so utilizing it for elevators makes sense. Plus wasting that corner on elevators for the residences would be such a loss for Tony's revenue of the buidling.

Not yet. I drove by yesterday. The Foundation permit for this one has been applied for, but not approved yet. Tony also hasn’t closed on the land just yet.

Wikipedia has this one and 900 listed as "Under Construction" so I'm sure the construction crews are there and y'all just can't see them.

Tony will probably pull the trigger on both of these at the same time. It just takes time to pull all of the moving parts together and a probable laydown lot.

You have to wear X-ray vision glasses.  There’s already a hole 50 feet deep.

Where will the be staging location and construction trailer? I don't think these should be considered 'under construction' until then

Thats a question for the Wiki guy for sure! Does anyone have speculation where the laydown lot will be for these two projects?

Best option would be to rent out the parking lot in front of the old library.

I agree with @downtownresident, but I was more thinking the TSU/YMCA lot and/or possibly the lot between the Frost building and Commerce

The grading permit was applied for on 801 and there is a new Charter for 801 900 GP. These projects are getting really close to  starting.

All of the t's are being crossed and the i's are being dotted now.

Drove by and USIC was on site, presumably to locate/mark nearby underground utilities.
