Icetera - thank you sir for these great photos! It is SO exciting to see so many projects coming to fruition and rising all across Richmond - literally seems like all points north, south, east and west are just bursting with energy of new construction. THIS is certainly how cities grow FAST. A lot of synergy - with developments rising simultaneously, businesses moving into town and population pouring in. SO good to see Richmond finally doing this!

More detail on the SUP from Jan - this being the BPB project just east of Griffin Ave. Nice looking infill. Looks like the commercial space could be divided up to support smaller retailers, smaller rents. I would have loved to see a 3rd story tacked on to push BPB upward but understand the space constraints.  Otherwise a solid looking project and at least we get some residential. Project attracted unusual attention from RVA Reddit so i linked that discussion here too.

Appreciate this weekly roundup. It really highlights how much development is occurring across the city, not just in the typical hotspots.

I second that motion, Coupe. These Friday roundups really shed light on so much that's going on. Great to see economic development firing on all cylinders all across the city.

Plan of Development filed for 12 attached townhome development this week in Chestnut Hill or south Highland Park.  This is another under represented housing type in northside so good to see more of it. With some of these large houses in Chestnut Park area likely to revert to single family from divided units as revitalization continues, we need denser housing all across here. Hopefully more targeted infill projects spread.

More info for development along 5th Ave. I think the site plan and architecture is neat - area could use some fresh design elements if you ask me.

I keep hoping that these projects that are popping up on the near Northside and other neighborhoods are the first of the 'falling dominoes' - that will serve as a catalyst for more developers to come into these areas and begin building similar projects. The density could ramp up very nicely in some of these neighborhoods if momentum can be sustained.

I've always said Highland Park & The Chamberlayne Corridor got next!

Welcome to the forum 123fakestreet!  Come and post often!

Whw53 is quick and an awesome researcher for projects in the city.  Because of him, we know about a lot of the projects long before they are announced.  I think we’ll keep him! ;)

This looks like a great addition to the neighborhood!

Could be something, could be nothing ..property at the corner of Roane and Atlantic (1801-1809 RoaneSt.)  changed hands in December to an entity registered in Charlottesville. The registration address for 'Roane Atlantic LLC' shares a registration address with a group - Altus Realty Partners which is a real estate development and investment company active in the DC Area. Listed on a recent zoning confirmation letter was a contact from what must be a related business venture out of that same address - Secured Realty LLC. which markets itself similarly. Maybe its unrelated to the development arm, but would be great to see another parcel in play here - momentum has been strong along Chamberlayne.
