RustTown 60 Report post Posted October 30, 2020 New small-format Meijer to open on East Jefferson in Detroit in 2021 Construction is finally underway on a small-format Meijer store on East Jefferson in Detroit that was announced three years ago and is now expected to open in 2021, although no longer with new apartments. The 42,000-square-foot store at 1475 E. Jefferson Ave., about a mile from downtown, will be called Rivertown Market and is being built on the site of former commercial buildings and the old University Club fraternal organization, which was demolished after a 2013 fire.
