Crafty ol’ Bill Nelson is trying to direct some of the jobs bill money to get us to the moon. He’s also reminding the good ol’boys in Louisiana to use some of NASA’s holes in the roof down there.

Gov. Lawton Chiles used to say the “ old he-coon walks just before the light of day” (just before he took out Jeb! in ‘94) and it appears Bill knows the lesson.

Wonder if he’s related to @JFW657? They’re both from Brevard.

From The Sentinel.

He’s liable to be the best NASA head since LBJ.

I got a kick out of this - the “Most Patriotic Brand In the US” has been picked and it’s Jeep.

Now, of course, Jeep hasn’t been American-owned for some time (or Chrysler, either). No doubt, somewhere Mitt Romney’s daddy is spinning away in heaven about that…

In the first survey by historians of His Orangeness, he comes in at #41, just behind William Henry Harrison (who died after a month in office) and ahead of Franklin Pierce, fellow impeachee Andrew Johnson and James Buchanan.

Salute!

We’ve got a photo of President Joe Biden’s doppelgänger who will be appearing in the Magic Kingdom’s Hall of Presidents beginning next month. This version seems to capture his image pretty well (that’s sometimes been a challenge for previous residents of the HoP).

I like that on the table next to the figure are his signature aviator sunglasses and Amtrak tickets. Good job by the Imagineers!

This is what happens when you let a less-than-brilliant football coach attempt to make law. He tried to paint Democrats into a box and spilled the paint all over himself. Tommy really does need to get out more and stop relying on Newsmax for info:

Good history lesson! Next, do you have a photo of the chopper taking off from Saigon in the Ford administration (Nixon lost more Americans in Viet Nam than JFK and LBJ combined AFTER  saying he had “a secret plan to end the war”in the 1968 election.)

Also, while you’re at it, show us the photos of the 241 Marines Reagan lost in Beirut on a peacekeeping mission in 1983.

Sherman was right when he supposedly said, “War is hell” and just like we’ll not blame Dubya for 9/11 (had Al, the true winner of the popular vote, been in charge we likely wouldn’t have been in Afghanistan anyway) and we won’t blame the Reagan White House for pushing NASA to launch Challenger for a press op when it was too cold in 1986.

There’s plenty of blame to go around.

Wanna talk about more history? I’m game (I was a history minor in college)

@orange87, look at you. Moved out of Florida and took a hurricane with you! You stay safe up there, ya hear?

Thanks Spenser. It's pretty odd watching all of these Connecticutians panic over a CAT1. To be fair though, CT's infrastructure wasn't built to handle any type of hurricane. Since it's such an old state, most of the power lines are above ground. Also, we don't have palm trees which can handle very high wind speeds. We have these enormous trees everywhere that are just waiting to topple onto powerlines.

Storm surge is a real concern in New England and it doesn’t take a category 1 storm to cause major damage — see Sandy for reference.

*Clutches pearls* DeBary not Orange City! But yeah, this wasn't the doomsday event some people thought it was gonna be.

As we speak I am at Logan able to get out of 1 of 4 flights actually not cancelled. Seems like most of the airlines did not want to take a chance on being grounded in Boston overnight.  Meanwhile, it’s a balmy 70 degrees with a slight breeze!

As luck would have it I took the fast ferry from Provincetown to Boston yesterday. They aren’t running harbor ferries today.

Just curious, given England, Germany and Japan all used to be enemies of ours and now we’re buds, it’s interesting how history moves along. Or, for folks that post things like this, are y’all just stuck in the ‘50’s? I hate to tell you this, but Ward and June have left the building.

I wonder if that racist white liberal who attacked Larry Elder also has a BLM sign on her front yard.
