“Republican Senate hopefuls are getting crushed on airwaves across the country while their national campaign fund is pulling ads and running low on cash — leading some campaign advisers to ask where all the money went and to demand an audit of the committee’s finances, according to Republican strategists involved in the discussions. In a highly unusual move, the National Republican Senatorial Committee this week canceled bookings worth about $10 million, including in the critical states of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Arizona. ”

And whom, you may ask, is running the NRSC this year? Why, it’s Skeletor! And as we know with his Medicare, SunPass and the FL unemployment system scams, Rick ALWAYS takes a cut for himself. You would think the GQP would know better. Oh well, let me cry giant Florida (Alli)Gator tears for trusting someone even the Frist family had no use for.

The GOP shifted its fundraising strategy during the Trump era to small dollar donations. It has worked well for some of the elected officials including Trump but it looks like s long term loser. Also, Trump is still hovering up tons of cash for what ever reason.

They are going to have to start apologizing to all the big corporations they have insulted over the last 2-3 years but it is probably too late. The GOP really has become the party of stupid.

Once upon a time, Republicans like Lamar Alexander and Howard Baker could be counted to charge in on their white stallions to clean up messes in the Volunteer State.

Now, you can only count on Republicans to make the messes as they try to send the state back to the 19th century:

Sadly, it’s something we’re all to familiar with here in Florida during the last twenty years:

There they go again:

“GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A federal jury in Michigan found two men guilty on Tuesday of plotting to kidnap the state’s Democratic governor, ending one of the highest-profile domestic terrorism cases in recent history and providing a measure of vindication to prosecutors who brought the case to trial a second time after a previous jury declined to convict.”

From The New York Times

““You can’t just strap on an AR-15 and body armor and snatch the governor,” Nils Kessler, a federal prosecutor, said during closing arguments.” Such a difficult concept for the MAGA folks, for some reason…

Grand Rapids, home stomping grounds of the DeVos clan (from nearby Ada), has traditionally been one of the most Republican areas in the country.

Thanks, Cheetohead!

‘Republican strategist Karl Rove recognizes that former president Donald Trump is a drag on the party, telling Fox News viewers: “The more we talk about that and the less we talk about the problems that we face as a country here and now, the better off the Democrats are. It raises their enthusiasm, dampens the Republican enthusiasm.”’

From The Washington Post

Or as President Obama would say, we Democrats are “Fired Up! Ready To Go!”

USA Today goes in-depth on DeSatan’s voting restrictions:

”Gov. Ron DeSantis called the state's 2020 election smooth and transparent. Then he set about making it tougher to vote.”

Also, changes to repayment for public servants. You can find out other information about the temporary changes on PSLF.gov. You must apply to PSLF before the temporary changes end on October 31, 2022.

And, there's more:

Raise the amount of income that is considered non-discretionary income and therefore is protected from repayment, guaranteeing that no borrower earning under 225% of the federal poverty level—about the annual equivalent of a $15 minimum wage for a single borrower—will have to make a monthly payment.
Forgive loan balances after 10 years of payments, instead of 20 years, for borrowers with original loan balances of $12,000 or less. The Department of Education estimates that this reform will allow nearly all community college borrowers to be debt-free within 10 years.
Cover the borrower’s unpaid monthly interest, so that unlike other existing income-driven repayment plans, no borrower’s loan balance will grow as long as they make their monthly payments—even when that monthly payment is $0 because their income is low.

“According to Gallup, approximately 42% of U.S. voters are registered as Independents or with no party affiliation. Of those 42%, an estimated 76% lean more towards one party than another.”

From The Sentinel

Yes, Virginia, registering NPA is nothing more than a fig leaf for commitment issues.

A big result of that is all the sniping “independents” do about our political parties only makes those parties worse from a failure to get involved.

Involvement in the political process is an important part of maintaining a democracy. Wannabe autocrats are all too happy for citizens to pass up those responsibilities. It’s a big reason we’re in the mess we’re in right now.

Rick Scott reminds me of Star Trek II: “Rick, Rick, you keep missing the target!”

“Dishonorable mention: Rick Scott. During his two terms as Florida’s Governor, Scott was generally boring, especially regarding public pronouncements. He might want to consider returning to that stealth role because it seems like every time he opens his mouth these days, it’s to insert his foot.

The latest example was Scott’s criticism of President Biden’s frequent trips to his home state of Delaware.

So?

Axios reported Scott was on a luxury yacht with his family on vacation to Italy when he made that snipe.”

I would say the childish attitudes of the party faithful, such as yourself, goes a long way towards keeping NPAs from wanting to join your little club.

I assume you all saw the MTG complaint on student loan forgiveness only for the Whitehouse to post the PPP loans MTG had forgiven and be like is this you?

The Biden White House social media team is really getting feisty and I love it. Not to mention Joe using the F-word (Fascist) to call out the GOPers last week in a speech.

The Democrats seem to be finally figuring out that you just can’t make nice with a bully.

“No! We’ve got great candidates! Look at the background of these people. These are wonderful individuals that believe in this country, and they believe in the right things,”  From the Florida Politics article. Totally heard this in Trumps voice in my head () as I read it.

No doubt Tommy Tuberville will be grateful to no longer be the stupidest senator if Georgians lose their mind and elect Herschel…
