^That is indeed a true story. I believe that banker's home is the current site of the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, also known as The Columns. From what I'm told that building has a nickel between every brick, his way of showing off how much money he could waste.

Famu has the choice location in town. I love the Hill. Famu is like a little angel sitting on our shoulder.

It truly is... when the school gets its books back in shape I bet we'll see tons of great things and people rolling down those hills.

So how is the development of the Cloisters going. I think this is like our forgotten project we haven't been talking about this project to much.

There haven't been many changes since the last pictures posted... the crews seemed to be going hard and heavy on the plumbing system or something. I'll try to get over there and snap a few shots soon.

I agree. I'd look for even greater things to come out of this district of downtown once the Gaines Street work is underway.

I think the Doug Burnett park could be a great asset to this community.

There is also a piece of property that stretches from the Doug Burnett Park almost all the way to Rail Road Avenue, along Gaines Street, that could be a whole new downtown itself... it's huge, and should be zoned for very high density buildings.

No its not! Not much is different over there.

I stopped driving by because construction is slow.

This site required a tremendous amount of underground work due to the fact that this concept of density is new to the All Saints district, they had to figure out a way for the toilets to flush! So they buried this huge tank thing beneath the site. I think things should pick up on this site soon.

I've not been over to check on this project site in a while. Me and the camera may have to get over there soon. The Cloisters are a unique concept, well suited for this street. I'm excited to see what Dan Winchester's company plans for his Coke building also.

What will the concreate become... it seems not to be changing much and the rest of the development seems to bee wood...?

The concrete will be the other building. The Cloisters Loft is a 2 building project.

I only noticed the hieght difference and pressumed they were just talller! How tall can a wood structure safely be?! four stories seem like a matchbox fire hazzard for wood!

the four story part is on the gaines side right?

Three stories is on the Gaines side. Its the part almost completely framed, the 4 story part will have that cement basement almost. I've seen many wood structures 3-4 stories built around here.
