Some steel (!) framing was up this past weekend.  Looked like the stair/elevator shafts were starting as well.

First stair tower is up. Gives an idea of what the height of the building will be.

Second stair tower is going up (in addition to the already completed one and elevator tower).  Lumber is on-site, so hopefully framing will begin soon.

Saw this high-quality, updated rendering of The Fitzgerald in the excellent development round-up article in UBJ that @gman430 posted in another thread:

The article also mentioned that they will have electric vehicle charging stations (4 initially, with possible expansion to 14).  This will be one of the first apartment projects in Spartanburg to have them, as far as I know.

That corner used to depress me. Now it will make a polished statement, what with this beautiful new structure (love the slanted roof) and the dedicated bike lanes.

Agree.  This project plus the rail trail will definitely spruce up this spot.

Seems like there was a slowdown here (or maybe just a focus on interior work), but we're back to visible progress.  More balconies being built, and brick façade going up.
