Drove by downtown Durham this morning in the rain and took some photos of Venable Center looking good.

Lots of activity around the Venable Center.  It's crazy to think that most of these blocks were parking lots just a few years ago.  Long term, I wonder what the feasibility is of keeping the courthouse and detention center in their current locations, as they will be surrounded by hundreds of residents and multiple entertainment venues.  Also wonder if Mangum and Roxboro St can be narrowed, as both are far wider than they need to be (4 lanes wide in some spots) considering they only serve 12,000-13,500 cars a day (for comparison, 147 has just two lanes in each direction and serves between about 70,000 and 90,000 cars a day).
