Sitting on a hill that is roughly 50' higher in elevation than the AT&T building (from Google Earth), it will dominate the skyline from any viewing angle.

That's what I’ve loved about LA’s skyline when US Bank was the tallest.  It kinds stuck out above the rest and gave the city’s downtown a focal point.  Of course, they now have the Wilshire Grand, which gives it an even cooler look.

We need our own “US Bank” building that sticks out above the rest and encourages other developers to think a little taller.

I wish I knew of a 750 other than Paramount but I don't. I am just talking the way things would look. Again our new tallest most likely will be a  residential tower unless we get some unreal office announcement that know one knows about.

Correct, and to make it clear, Tony's Paramount right now is the tallest proposed that I know about announced or not.

So…is the yellow highlighted building The Fairmont and the pink building The Four Seasons?  If so, that tells you just how HUGE this building will be and how it will effect the skyline.

This question may not be the proper place but Batman's been talked about here.  Anyone know if it's true when the Batman building was planned South Central Bell or Bell South (which ever name they went by at the time) planned on the tower's height to be 615' in honor of the 615 area code but the finished product turned out 2' taller?

Probably yet another luxury hotel brand, the only ones not in Nashville yet Or planning something here to my knowledge are St. Regis, Waldorf Astoria or Intercontinental. Nashville is vying with Atlanta and Miami for the most luxury hotels of any city in the South.

Intercontinental seems the most likely at first glance, just because we know from the past that they want to be here.

The 2nd & Peabody project's goal is to “activate an entire block by extending the density and quality of SoBro district development further south,” as well as to “set a new architectural standard to future development to follow,” according to project plan filings.

This from a NBJ article.  As for that last part...absolutely.   That's what I hear many voices here saying.  Time to take it up a notch!

There will actually be two different hotels (one in each building).  One will be a full luxury brand, the other more limited service.

So this will be Nashville's new tallest, the building is on an elevation, but it still will appear shorter than The Batman Building? Also whoever did these sketches thinks Nashville's next next tallest will be at Nashville Yards...

^^^^^Gresham and Smith are the architects for both projects, so maybe there is some inside information about the Nashville Yards building there.

Sometimes I think there's some 'funky' messages sent out by developers of buildings downtown to make it appear as though their building won't be 'too tall'.  You know Nashville's aversion to height.  I wouldn't be surprised if there are members of the Metro Council who think ATT is a sacred iconic structure that just can't be surpassed (a'la Billy Penn in Philly).
