Just received word from Collett who is doing the retail/restaurant leasing that this project has been put on hold for the time being due to high interest rates at the federal level. Could be a while before we see it break ground as the Fed is planning to raise interest rates even more this year. The project isn’t dead though.

Projects like this are never going to get built if the developers are waiting on interest rates to drop:

I don’t see the Fed lowering interest rates for at least five years. Gas prices continuing to go up is not helping matters. Might as well put the site up for sale.

From the New York Times:

John Williams, the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, thinks that the central bank’s push to cool the economy is near its peak and that he expects that interest rates could begin to come down next year.

The land sold, didn't it? I imagine they're wrestling with the budget/inflation.

It did sell but that doesn’t mean much. The site in the link below downtown is still owned by the same developer that proposed the project way back in 2018:

It appears this project is no longer happening. The retail/restaurant leasing that was being done through Collett has been completely removed from their website and everywhere else.

The leasing package is still on LoopNet and Showcase. Both show a Q1 2026 delivery date now which is new. Previously it was a Q2 2024 delivery date. It still has been removed from Collett’s website though so who knows.
