 A few new images for 800 Lea.  MDHA Design Review Committee will be meeting soon to vote on the ground level form and function. Towards that end,  Tony Giarratana's company has presented three options, including: static art hung on back wall along gallery; digital art hung on back wall along gallery; or digital art on face of glass along gallery. "We like all three options and will pursue whichever option Metro may like us to pursue," he said.

The site sits within MDHA’s Arts Center redevelopment district and, as such, DRC approval is needed.

800 Lea could require 18 months to design and permit and another three years to construct.

I swear….if he builds this only a few feet lower than Batman…I’m gonna be angry.  Someone needs to be man enough to at least go 1 inch over Batman and get this “height war” started.

Heck.  All we gotta do is mow down Pick Up Stix, pull up the WSM radio tower in Brentwood, and plant it in the middle of that roundabout.  808' would make it our new 'tallest.'

You have to remember a lot of these project like the original 505 CST were designed with the specific site in mind.

So we do not know what the other project is or where it will be, however I have a strong idea of where, we will have to wait and see what it will look like. I will lay some good money down that it will be taller than 612’.  That’s just my opinion though.

It’s ok, if you know something about an other tower. We understand if you need to keep it under lock & key. Just hoping it’s something that will blow our minds!

That location got nixed! I thought it would be the lot next to Prime but as far as I know someone else has their eye on that building.

The Metro Development and Housing Agency Design Review Committee requested Tuesday continued refining of the ground-level form and function for a luxury residential skyscraper proposed for the SoBro roundabout.

According to a source, Giarratana officials Ted Kromer and Morgan Stengel made this morning’s presentation to the MDHA DRC. The Metro entity approved the original curvilinear building design, the west elevation materials, the traffic access study and plans, and an added pedestrian sidewalk from the roundabout.

 

The company was asked to send to the MDHA DRC:  1) additional renderings of the back-of-house (western facing) segment of the building and bike storage doors; 2) a rendering of the gallery space that does not include any digital displays.

No, I am unsure if Tony is moving faster than he said. What I think is that he is getting everything ready to go and will open his sales office and when he hits 50%, construction starts, maybe pre 2023. That’s just me thinking outside the box.

He’s really pushing all his chips onto the table with Prime, Alcove, and this at the same time. Must be a lot of financing. They seem like slam dunk projects but I’d still be stressed with all that leverage.

A grading permit has been applied for related to luxury residential skyscraper 800 Lea proposed for the SoBro roundabout.
