The Belvedere hotel on 36th street is to close on August 16th, in order to make way for a 14 story Home2Suites by Hilton.

I found on the http://www.saunderscrousearchitects.com/sample.html site the first renderings that I've seen of this hotel.  They are the architecture firm that bought out CMSS, town center's architects, I believe.

I actually like it. The angles make it less of a monolithic box. On a side note, looking on that website, there's a rendering for an office building for Cleveland street.

Not bad, I like it. The coloring gives it a trendy South Beach feel. It'll be a good addition.

As I understand it, under the original plan, building 1 was Hyatt Place and building 2 was Hyatt House. If building 1 is no longer Hyatt Place then what is it?

This is a hotel going up somewhere in the mid 30’s streets. I’m not sure what it is.

I'm surprised on 2 counts. It's a decently modern and upscale design for the oceanfront, and the new rendering is actually better than the old one.

So, I welcome this development and it doesn’t look awful but do y’all remember what the original proposal for a Hyatt Place was supposed to look like? That tower was much sleeker and objectively more beautiful. I know the 27 Atlantic apartment tower ended up being built on that block, and I do really like that tower, but I wish they used this previous Hyatt Place design for the new location instead of the one currently under construction
