Suburban Capital’s website has two Oceanfront hotel projects marked as under development: Hyatt Place & Moxy. This project is the Hyatt Place and Moxy is the former Baymont at 12th Street.

This thread contains the Hyatt Place projects. This is a different project. This thread contains the Hyatt Place projects.

This is a different project.

That project is Hyatt House which at one point did include a Hyatt Place where the apartments are nearing completion. Hourigan has some social media posts regarding the project as well. Unfortunately just construction photos but states Hyatt Place with 13 levels and 140 keys.

As I understand it, under the original plan, building 1 was Hyatt Place and building 2 was Hyatt House. If building 1 is no longer Hyatt Place then what is it?

So, I welcome this development and it doesn’t look awful but do y’all remember what the original proposal for a Hyatt Place was supposed to look like? That tower was much sleeker and objectively more beautiful. I know the 27 Atlantic apartment tower ended up being built on that block, and I do really like that tower, but I wish they used this previous Hyatt Place design for the new location instead of the one currently under construction :(

Ahh, another great tower value engineered out of existence. Par for the course for this area...
