I know it's encroaching on SFH a bit, but I've really wanted to see some denser development hop across Tryon further down like this.

I guess technically a highrise, the OmShersa Hotel on Hawkins next to Krispy Kreme just had it's land use plans approved.

I wonder if that is a dual brand as that is a lot of rooms and sometimes it is better to have 2 Marriott or 2 Hilton brands to feed off each other.

The glass on the Lowes tower also directs death rays onto the sidewalk just south of the station platform. 

I was hit with one just now (9:30am) and have been hit by them just after 5pm slightly further south.

What's the retail situation with the Lowes tower? I know Allbirds is opening, but I could've sworn I also saw ALO Yoga too? Anyone confirm the retail tenants coming to the tower?

This is going to be a heck of a view in a few short years. And yes, if you zoom in and squint you can see Carowinds

I agree!  Gonna be pretty amazing to have several High-Rise districts surrounding Uptown, with SouthEnd being the largest most dense but Midtown boasting Two or Three High-Rises itself if those Apartments (NWR & Pappas) approved ever get off the ground in the next year or two.

How many stories are those midtown high-rises supposed to be?

I think both have been approved to be up to 299’ tall but not sure how many stories until NWR & Pappas fully commit.  I think the NWR was supposed to be like 20 to 24 floors originally.

Once the Queensbridge & Crescent developments happen I’m sure they’ll be a lot of redevelopment pressure for that Biz Journal lot.  May be in few years before that though.

Is the office building in this photo the new  one at 2151 Hawkins or is it a different project that will rise with the new residential tower?  It looks different, but I’m not sure,

^^^same existing office building 2151 Hawkins   why it might look different is you are seeing the deck areas with trees and patio area for Sycamore Brewing on the 2nd level left hand side of the office tower.  and of course it is a night shot with lighted office floors.

Thanks.  I thought it had to be the same one but couldn’t tell.  The new tower is amazing!
