I like the units surrounding the garage, but that feels like very little public street activation.

Boring

If we are being honest, the Aspire Gulch project did nothing to think we would see something more inspiring. This is a very generic, run-of-the-mill apartment building that is very similar to the Aspire Gulch.

Agreed. I’m happy about more units, but this is just copy + paste.

AI. Neyer has now officially pushed the groundbreaking of Aspire Midtown back to this spring.  Originally they had planned to start last summer. They are partnering with The Dinerstein Companies.  They are in the final stages of design and pre-construction.

This one got approved very quickly and I am nor surprised at the Spring start. Most everything was done by rights as far as zoning too.

As unfortunate as it is to lose the old growth trees, the development team does have to either replace those trees. Obviously they cannot replace old growth like that, but based on the diameter of the tree cut down, the urban forester requires a certain amount of smaller trees to be put back in its place. The bigger the tree, the more smaller trees needed. I believe there is also a "tree fund" that the developer can pay into (similar to the sidewalk fund) if there is not enough space on their lot to put the require trees in. Flappy Bird

That's a good idea.
