The plant is the old haunts of the very first Global factory in the US (the VW plant in the mid 1970s). Total Employment should reach over 3,200 now, it is one of only 4 "high technology centers" for Sony in North America.

The centers main products are "Grand Wega liquid-crystal-display televisions -- and a brand new line of high-definition televisions, a 70-inch model using Sony's new Silicon X-tal Reflective Display technology."

Add this to Pittsburgh's brain gain with Seagate Technologies, Intel, one of 4 Rand Corp. centers, CMU, CERT DOD center, Marconi and others, we are definetly living up to "Roboburgh, USA" as the Wall Street Journal has deemed us!
