Triad Parks: from State Parks to city parks to Greenways

The Triad area has some great parks and you should highlight them.  From urban parks like those in downtown Greensboro to Guilford Courthouse NMP  to state parks like Pilot Mountain and parks like this one in Winston the new Quarry Park. 

Pilot Mountain State Park and the Quarry Park in Winston. 

Yes Pilot Mtn State Park burned but regeneration of new growth is always happening and the view is fantastic.  So close to Winston plus a view of the skyline too. 

Quarry Park is a model for old quarries all over NC this is a great looking park they are continuing to work on.

We all love new buildings and high rises but nothing beats being out in a natural setting. I know the Triad cities have some great parks and greenways showcase them here if you like.

Downtown Greensboro's 2 big parks are great!  Loved the 2 food beverage places at LeBauer Park.

Not only does the Triad have some of the best highways in the state especially Greensboro you have lots of state parks nearby too.   I have now been to 34 state parks only a few more to go to I can say all.  Never been to these 2 both north of Greensboro Haw River State Park in Guilford county and Mayo River in Rockingham County.    Like the Haw River Park and it has 2 sections.  Some photos from earlier in the week.   Get out and enjoy the parks you have nearby.    Part of Haw River was (is) a  conference center there are cabins, motel room rentals there.  The Summit environmental center.   Very unique for NC state parks.    Mayo River was once a rec facility and park for nearby mill workers in Mayodan.   Haw River park is the headwaters for the Haw River which becomes the Cape Fear in Chatham County.

2023 is the Year of the Trail here in NC and the Triad has some great trails in the cities and the surrounding areas.  Like Haw River State Park, Pilot Mtn State Park, Salem Strollway and greenways in Greensboro.  So put your photos of your favorite places to walk here.
