Monthly UP walking tour and meetup!

we had a great turnout about 20 people including UP peoples and Charlotte Urbanists peoples.   Dan was great and as the developer spoke lots of truth and his insight were interesting.  He led an 1 hour and half tour around the property inside the renovated buildings and by the sites of the apartments.  Their new parking garage looks great.  300 apartments will start soon.  I will post more photos in the Camp North End thread. 

We will do more developer led tours and member tours but everyone who came seems to like the walk and talk tours like this.   This summer look out for downtown Concord tour and uptown Charlotte tour.    Have suggestions let me know.

Late Notice, but this one came together the last couple days. Neighboring Concepts, Shook Kelley, CLT Urbanists, Historic West End Partners and I will be doing a tour of the 5 points, Wesley Heights and Stewart Creek Greenway areas. 

• 10AM SATURDAY July 9th
• Meet at Five Points Plaza
• Parking will be available at Mosaic Village parking deck

Led by architects from Neighboring Concepts and Shook Kelly and organized by @CLT Development and Charlotte Urbanists this walking tour had over 50 people!  Learned a lot I did not know about plans for the area and will post that in other threads.  Y'all need to come next time  I hearing an uptown Charlotte and a separate Southend walking tour will be forthcoming.  Along with a downtown Concord tour.  Join the fun and learn about a new part of the city or region.     this is our third walking tour and it was the biggest yet.  First was the Mill District and NoDa then Camp North End and this one the Biddleville Wesley Height Five Points tour.

I was there from out of town I had a great time. Charlotte is a very pleasant city.

Haha, sorry guys, I've been swammmppppppedddddddddddddd hope to do something this month or next, if anyone has ideas in September I'm open to them. I have Terry Shook and David Furman on the ropes for a tour of the rail trail, but I haven't had the time to plan it.

Walking tour of the 10th largest city in the state Concord.   10 am Sat November 19 meeting at the City of Concord Parking garage  28 Cabarrus Ave West in downtown.  The tour will be approx 2 hours from downtown Concord  through the N Union St historical district over to Gibson Mill home of 2 breweries and a food hall (and an antique mall etc) This is the end point.  Come learn about small city urbanismt and how this sprawling city of Concord has a vibrant downtown that is getting more so every year. 

10 am downtown Concord November 19   Learned about the $79 Million worth of construction downtown and quite a bit of history.   Concord is so much more than Concord Mills and cheap flights to Florida.
