Correct. I'm suggesting Ritz walks away from their deal with M2 and signs with White Lodging for WL to deliver them a building.

I would think the only issue is that the lot wouldn’t fit both buildings, assuming they still want both. Although the lot next door is also a parking lot…

Did I read somewhere on this topic that one of the M2 owners is married into the Marriott family? The Marriott family owns Ritz-Carlton as I also understand, so the Ritz owners walking away   from this project would be problematical. Can someone confirm or correct this?

I don't think changing to WL would necessitate coming to this lot.  WL could just develop the existing lot on the circle and have two projects going.

I’m still dreaming that Ritz teams up with Tony , and they build a updated version of Siggy!! … I mean if they really want to make a statement! That would be the true Flagship address in Nashville.

You know, that's a good point. The Ritz would already be under construction if Giarratana and team were behind it.  But he is way too busy building Nashville's tallest currently--so they can stay focused there until steel in the sky, then pivot to the Ritz.

I will tell you Tony does not do hotels. He tried to get one done where the Embassy Suites is but it is not is area of expertise. Hotels are a whole other ball of wax and financing. He has his model and sticks with it.

According to one source, it is supposed to break ground at the end of the year. However, all of that is at the mercy of Metro permits and financing these days.

The brand will be under the Marriott Autograph Collection umbrella, joining Union Station Hotel in that category.  The specific moniker will be announced by year's end.

Developer White Lodging is seeking Metro Planning Department administrative staff approval of various future encroachments (including those related to canopies, NES equipment and underground parking).

As the plans stand now, the 450' tower would become Nashville's tallest structure that is exclusively a hotel.

Some upticks in details regarding the Autograph Hotel from their newly completed Downtown Code Application:

- Will now be 485' instead of previously listed 448' (35 floors plus cap)
- Now 789 rooms instead of 750
- Now 12,300 sq. ft. main floor restaurant instead of 10,300 sq. ft. 
- 190 capacity underground garage instead of 250.
- Stanley D. Lindsey & Associates is now structural engineering firm.

Wow, this is very exciting to see. 

The core drilling is pretty exciting also--could it mean digging could start in the next couple of months?

As someone else mentioned, this is a slam dunk location for a large hotel like this. It's in the heart of everything downtown. 

Will add some terrific height to that part of downtown, also. Love to see it get closer to the 500 foot mark. 

AND the best part is that a nearly 500 foot skyscraper is now gonna be rising from a lowly parking lot.  LOVE to see that!
