Wow I can not believe this thread went over 4 years now, but great suggestions folks! When I meant no chains, I wanted people to keep away from the obvious like papa johns and pizza hut, etc.

Luigi's still my fav, and I believe they won charlotteobserver.com's best pizza contest last year!

I like to add I also like Portofino's and Carmella's in Fort Mill. Also, a great place in North Charlotte is Davinci's, they have awesome marinated peppers!

Off Topic, I see Little Ceasers is making a come back in recent years. Anyone had Donato's? Opinions?
