I’m looking at the old hotel on Demonbreun by the interstate and have to believe someone will eventually build a tall boy on that site.  How long will that hotel hold out before selling?

Well, you could say the same about the junk buildings from it  just south of it over to Division as well.  I think those will go bye-bye before the Comfort Inn.  Those sites are perfect for some tall residential buildings IMO.  That whole triangular area is way too undeveloped compared with Division just across the interstate.

I'm looking on Google maps and can't find/discern which building you're referring to.  I see the Comfort Inn and a condo building across from it.

I believe the "old hotel" to which Titanhog refers IS the Comfort Inn.  I know of no other on Demonbruen. near the interstate.

I'm in love with the potential for this area.  Hope it can shift even closer to Charlotte Pike. 

On a bit of a nostalgic front, I'm going to miss the dairy tanks that tower along Church near 15th Ave. N. .... wish they could somehow survive as landmark for the area and turned into an art piece.  That would be really cool.

smeagolsfree We will get a 500 footer in midtown nashville, We already have a 400 footer and a 300 footer. So eventually we will get a 500 footer on either the reed site or beaman site. Probably on both sites.

Yes…a prime piece of land.  Have to believe the owners are getting a lot of offers for crazy money, however, obviously not enough…yet.

I had never even noticed it until you called it out.  Prime lot indeed.   Some developer will hopefully make a substantial enough offer,  Might depend on the zoning restrictions though.  Just down the road (I-40) is another prime lot that was to be used for my greatest disappointment so far, Buckingham.  It would have been so REGAL there, stylish and high above all its neighbors.

I liked the buckingham high rise residential building a lot. I remember when it was proposed years ago in the gulch, If it was built it would have been the tallest building in the gulch at 450 feet. I hope that a high rise building still gets built on that site.                                                                                                                                                    I like the 1401 church street project more, Because you have more high rise buildings proposed. I think that the 45 story building will be a 500 footer, the 35 story building will be a 400 footer and the 30 story building will be a 300 footer. This project is going to change the midtown skyline a lot, 1401 church street is one the best project's to be proposed in midtown nashville.

Buckingham still owns the site, so there is still hope they may yet pull it off. If they do sell it to another developer, they will make some bank on the land for sure just by sitting on it. Someone will put a bigboy on that lot at some point.

Welp... I knew this was coming. My wife use to work for Country Delight. Things started to change when Amazon announced they were coming to town and the construction boom around that area..(Church St., West End, North Gulch, etc.) started to happen. They brought in a Plant Manager known as "The Closer" because every Deans food plant that he was assigned to ended up closing down. So I believe that he was there to facilitate the closing of that plant. I told my wife that they were going to list that property on the market soon, and right  after she got another job, within two weeks, they announced that they were closing the plant. After that, it was just a matter of time that the property was going to be sold. It is in a prime location right off the interstate. I suspect Hustler Hollywood wont be there for long.
