Charlotte among the top 20 metros for total GDP.

^ meh (this is a response to OP, not to CLT2014). Within the US the total GDP measure is really just a proxy for population. Charlotte fares considerable less well looking at GDP per capita (a proxy for productivity):

Charlotte ranks 38th (out of 385 MSAs) with $76,958 in GDP per person (this is above the US metro average of $73,107 per person). We are basically tied with Dallas and Atlanta in this measure. These data are calculated using the same BEA source your table uses.

On the plus side we are marginally above Philadelphia and Raleigh! Although Durham is, by far, the most productive NC metro, it ranked 13th ($92,987 per person)

I think the GDP PC measure is a much better measure of productivity and human capital than the total GDP measure. The top of the list is San Jose, San Francisco, Seattle, Boston New York and DC. Having said that, Midland Texas is the current #1, but that is largely a product of sanctions on Russian exports and mining being a very capital intensive (and labor extensive) activity.

I also glanced at the change in GDP pc since 2001. Charlotte's GDPpc increased slightly more than the US metro average change. but Charlotte ranked 50th for increase in GDP pc (we were easily bested by Nashville and Austin in addition to the other high flyers listed above, these data tell me that had mediocre economic development despite impressive population growth).

Interesting though that your GDP PC list appears to separate Raleigh and Durham (using MSA definitions, maybe?) whereas OP's list combines them (CSA) That might influence rankings significantly as there are more cities to include.
