Charlotte Development Update

Time for an update on some of Uptown Charlotte's bigger goings on...

Let's start with the obvious, the arena. Here is a rendering of what it will look like when it opens in 2005:

And here is how the land looks today:

Right next door to the arena is the construction site for the new Children's Learning Center, which will look like this:

Right now, it's looking more like this:

Not far down the road is the construction site for the new courthouse and parking deck, which will look like this:

The last major project under way right now is, of course, the Johnson & Wales campus:

It is really coming along nicely:

I'm not thrilled with the nearby dorms, though, as they feel very cold and prison-like:

I am happy that they are taking up a whole ugly brownfield on that side of Cedar, though.

Nostyle: Thanks for the update... I was wondering when someone will post a thread about the on-going projects from the Queen City. Glad to see everything is coming along very well. I also liked the new Courthouse.
