The Liberty Tunnels were closed yesterday morning in both directions for about a half hour . . .

. . . Tunnel maintenance workers and police found no sign of a pedestrian. However, they found a cat trapped in the space between the inbound and outbound sides of the tunnels, said Lt. Michael Hajduk, of the South Side station.
