Well construction has been "happening" since like 2018.  :tw_joy:  Color me impressed when they announce an opening date, which I am sure CA will cover at least 4 more times.

Hahahahaha I’m totally with you. This has been taking forever. But at least they have done things to make it look like they are planning to open.

Are the street closures in Uptown brining people back? Did anybody go check out the music and events sponsored by Center City Partners or is it a ghost town still?

I went for a little bit but there wasn’t that many people.  They only had two food trucks and some guys juggling on unicycles.  Also had a guitar player (live music).  It was nice but they need to bring more food trucks and advertise more

More details from Center City Partners on steps being taken to attract people back Uptown to support the restaurant and hospitality industry, even as winter fast approaches.

Superica opened on Monday at Strawberry Hill shopping center and already doing a great business.  At 5 pm today it was 3/4 filled many families with small kids different from Southend location.  Exclusive photos of the inside from your taste tester.  Earlier crowd out here in the suburbs.  (photo taken earlier than that when the doors swung open)

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I went to the new Superica last Friday for a soft opening since it's right around the corner from where I live now. Like KJHBurg said, it's a far more family-friendly environment than the Southend location. This is a huge huge huge addition to the restaurant scene in this part of town.

Drove by the old Peoples Market spot in Dilworth and saw a sign up for a place called Red@28th.  Google says its a hookah bar anyone know anything about it? Surprised Dilworth is the market they want to target.

Yes and the place next to it (in the alleyway going towards the parking garage) will be “Vibe Café” owned by two Greek brothers.  I’m not so sure the hookah place will work in that spot.  Not sure if Dilworth has the demographics for that

It used to be in the same building as Noda Amelie's. Has been closed for years.

Not exactly a restaurant but I highly recommend Verdant bread on Monroe road. By far the best fresh bread in Charlotte. No where else I've tried is in the same league.

Absolutely true. Best bread in town and run by good people. I highly recommend their weekly subscription if you have the money for it.

Not open yet but this is at the former East blvd Bar and Grill / Rouge / Inishmore slot adjacent to People’s Market.

Meh. Surely Dilworth and  Southend are at peak sushi?

We have alcohol options every 3 feet in Southend. For people that like sushi, more options are always welcome!

I yen (sic) for an authentic Izakaya with Yakitori! Along with a decent selection of Sashimi. Hard to find a place with Ika or Uni. So, IMHO there is plenty of room for more JP places just don't americanize them to death!

what? you don't enjoy bland fish with blasting techno music?
