Hey, I don't know if anyone has ventured onto the Simon Malls Website, but if you go to www.simon.com, then click on "about simon" then "property portfolios", locate st. johns town center by clicking on map, then click on the "fact sheet" icon for sjtc, the portfolio shows renderings of phase 2 AND lists the following 4 restaraunts coming: Nan Thai, Mitchell's Fish Market, The Capital Grille, and Bricktop, by Joe Ledbetter. Unfortunately, it doesn't list the names of any stores coming in. Show's spaces for 2 department stores, and PARKING DECKS!! :yahoo:

The restaraunts are pretty impressive... I've been to both Nan Thai and The Capital Grille... both very very good....

The Capital Grille coming to Jax is huge... it's very upscale... the one in Atlanta has Ruth's Chris quality steaks and the interior accents are mahogany wood with a downtown skyline view of Atlanta.

This is a big pick-up for Jax. I'll enjoy eating there when I come to visit my family down there!

I've also heard good things about Nan Thai & Bricktop. This is great news!

That is so interesting, because in 1986 I lived in the northernmost apartment complex on Southside Blvd between JTB and Baymeadows Rd.

Wow, that area was completely undeveloped at the time. Too bad most of the wonderful new developments are on the Southside. Riverside, Avondale, San Marco would benefit from a similar development too.

I wish that there would be more restaraunts that are mall employee freindly, like CPK, which has food that we retail shop slaves, can afford and can access. CPK allows that. I hope that they get more stores like Lush, which would add to Jacksonville, and be affordable to the people who shop there yet attract the rich b/c of its "coolness". I do, however, hope for high end retail as well, such as LV. There needs to be a balance between high end and middle end with all the right stuff here. They are starting to build the second phase right now, including the area where the "Future Department store" is on the Simon property page info sheet for St. Johns Town Center. I will be getting another page of "progress" up once I get more photos!

Went to the SJC for the first time this weekend and I have to say I was very impressed! Nice range of stores and very well put together. One question though, are there any plans to add some residential around the shopping areas and really make it an active urban area? Or do the developers plan to just have reatail? Regardless, I look forward to returning next time I am in Jacksonville.

I noticed today, while driving on JTB, that landscaping has commenced in the outter hoops of Phase II. They have planted a lot of trees. They are ripping up a lot of parking lot areas around the contruction areas. I am going to get back over there next month to get some pictures once stuff at work calms down a bit. :camera:
