Philly Region moves up from 5th to 3rd

Recommended Posts

Interesting, that's definetly great news for Philly, but I'm dismayed I don't see Pittsburgh on that list anywhere, not that we're any where in the top 5 but I would think from everything I hear that Pittsburgh with all its investment is #7 or 8 or so nationally.

I am also surprised that Pittsburgh is not on the list.

With all the research schools you have it might have

something to do with what we have been talking

about on the BIO thread that you don't seem to be

included in any big region.

Here is the list.

Boston

San Fran

Philly

New York

Raleigh-Durham

San Diego

Los Angeles

Minneapolis

Chicago

Seattle

I'm surprised DC isn't on that list.

Anyway, I managed to attend a few of the parties and receptions held in the wake of the second night of the BIO convention. There literally are people from all around the world. I'm meeting up with people from Europe, Australia, etc. that I've only had e-mail contacts with before. Its not just biotech people but corporate people, lawyers, media, you name it. PLus there are parties all over town.

Very cool urban.

Did you get to go to the one at the national constitution center?

I walked by there Sunday night and the place was incredible,

all kinds of lights and lasers and people dancing on these

high platforms.

Police were everywhere.

Well, here come the protestors. The skateboards could be

very cool.

No. I didn't get invited to that one. There were events all over the city though from Penn's Landing to the Art Museum.
