and the PA scenes in Kingpin were actually Scranton, if I am remembering correctly.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Actually almost every scene from Kingpin was filmed in and around Pittsburgh. We "filled in" for Scranton and the Dutch Country.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I though this was strictly where things were supposed to take place. My mistake.

I don't know what to think about the movie The Replacements; Set in Washington, filmed entirely in Baltimore.

The more fun thing is to discuss the geographic errors in these movies. True Lies for example, filmed in DC and the surrounding area, particularly in the scene where Arnold is riding a horse. He starts in McPherson Square, enters a building which is the mall in Georgetown (12 or 15 blocks away), and then winds up in a elevator to the top of a building across the Potomac in Crystal City. All within the span of a minute.

In Charlotte there was a nickolodeon sitcom in the 90s that was based in Charlotte on the show. "My Brother and Me"

part of the setting of the 1970s series "Roots" starring Lavar Burton and John Amos was set in the Greensboro area in Caswell County and Alamance County. I'm not sure if it was actually filmed in those counties,

Movies filmed in the Greensboro area

Hellraiser 3 scene showing the storefront of a building on Elm Street in dt Greensboro (The real "nightmare on Elm Street" In the scene a girl name Joey was running down Elm Street. She stopped at the intersection of Elm and Market Streets when a police car pulls up with two officers. One of pinhead's goons thorws a bottle of gasolene at the car and the other goon blows fire. The the car explodes in front of the Jefferson-Pilot building.)

I don't think theres been anything done about Grand Rapids :P

I know of one movie off the top of my head, and thats "Hardcore" Directed by Paul Schrader. Which is interesting to note that it had quite an interesting cast, with Everybody Loves Raymond's dad Peter Boyle and the Legendary George C. Scott.

The exterior shots of what was supposed to be the Medical College of Virginia were filmed at UNC Chapel Hill. I was there during the filming. It was pretty odd to have giant legs on one of our classroom buildings.
