Ionia Street Market promotes diversity

GRAND RAPIDS -- It's been two years since Amy and Alex Bowers moved to Grand Rapids. But now that they are back from several years living in California, a visit to the Ionia Street Market at Heartside Park will be on their summer things-to-do list.

It is a gorgeous event that helps promote revitalization, Alex said. It is the type of activity that will bring people downtown.

"We didn't know this existed last year," Alex said. "It feels a lot like the things you see they do in Santa Monica."
