Minneapolis needs an architectual landmark?

Seattle has the space needle.  St. Louis has the gateway.  San Fran has the pyramid building and golden gate. Toronto has the CN tower. 

What should Minneaplis build to give it an identity? (and plz don't say a giant Paul Bunyan!)

Anything that doesn't make us look like a bunch of rubes! Watch out, someone on the Minneapolis city council might see that Paul Bunyan joke and the next thing you know we have a giant Paul Bunyan on the shores of Lake Calhoun!

My vote would be for something like the Space Needle, maybe built over by the Metrodome. More specifically? I have no idea, just something that is a couple of hundred feet tall and architecturally significant. No small order.

My other thought would be a cool bridge(s) across the Mississippi. It's not a very wide waterway, so maybe a series of unique bridges would work (along the lines of Portland, OR).
