Google Earth has actually proved it's worth. While searching for his house, a man in Italy found an ancient Roman Villa underneath a nearby riverbed.

I guess Google Earth can be helpful after all. That said, Britain is objecting to the detail of the photos because it gives terrorists a way to explore their military bases.

This is just great. And, I always question myself; If we civilians can see evrything with details from above and find it amuzing, how do the secreat agencies, or terrorist use it? This might also be a rather scary threat to security or privacy.

I've heard that our government has satelites so powerful that they can even zoom in to see the denomination of a bill, that pretty much means they can see anything on the ground.
