it's not that bad... I saw The Stones there and a soccer match after the reno; they cementified the underneath concourse, slapped a couple of escalators in there, and built that north endzone bleachers/platform and that was cool...for Orlando that is...

@HankStrong, I don’t know if you’ve ever read the Wiki entry for the Citrus Bowl before, but to see how much they’ve put into that money pit over the years only to end up with what they’ve got is scary.

I've seen the movie.

I've been to high school stadiums (and not in Texas) with the same basic level of quality.  The restrooms are horrible.  The vending is horrible.  The access is horrible.  I've heard the locker rooms are beyond horrible, but I've never been in them myself.

The problem is the return for the money invested is abysmal.  If you told me they dropped a few grand on the fixes they made, I'd be impressed.  The money they've spent won't build you JERRRREHHH WORLD in Dallas or anything, but we could have a real stadium with that money.

yeah, I thought they were talking about re-doing the bathrooms there, or did, a few short years ago.  I guess not...

Serious question - how are the suites?  Thats where the money is.  In terms of doing the things that lands big games, we seem to be doing something right.  In a given year, the bowl game hosts more college football games than many schools on campus stadiums do.   Thats pretty crazy to think about since there isnt an NCAA home team.

I've never stepped foot in one.  Wish I knew.

I wonder if the weather is part of your second thought, though.

the weather...canopies.  I saw an aerial of Dolphins Stadium last year (Hard Rock/Joe Robbie...) and I thought it was the Chase Stadium in Queens where they host the US Open.  When I realized what it actually was and the size of that roof, I was very impressed with that retrofit.  Too bad we don't have the $$$/team/justification to have that here.

Sadly, @HankStrongcould not convince the 2027 Army-Navy game what a splendid place Camping World Stadium is.

They’re going back to Philly instead:

Orlando Sentinel is a hack sensationalist birdcage fodder travesty of a paper, and deserves no mention in respectable conversation.

Most others have recognized Orlando's strong fan support, great results for the USMNT here, strong tourist destination, Disney WWOS facility, great hotels, good airport, and other factors of probably being in the top 10.

It was the AP that ranked them, not the Sentinel.

Or is that just my "buddy dyer" rant you?

Lol - It ain’t what it used to be but as long as columnists like Scott Maxwell and Matt Palm do their thing, I’m glad it’s there to shine a light on what’s happening.
