What are they building there?

Repair work restricts Henderson Bridge

Repair work is under way on the Henderson Bridge, so those who wish to cross the bridge on bicycle or on foot must use a sidewalk on the westbound side.

Regarding the project in general, here we go again with the DOT not understanding the implications of their decisions. The IWay may be a great project and idea overall, but a lot of the contingencies, including throwing extra traffic over this bridge, are not working out very well.

I've been meaning to ask about this.

At Broadway and Bradford there is a one story building, it was always ugly as sin, a little box. They've ripped off the front and appear to be putting in actual windows, a true facade and have added onto the back. Anyone know what's going in there?

This might be in another thread somewhere, but I noticed a new foundation across from Casserta's this past weekend, anyone know what might be going there?

I noticed this when I was perusing Brady Sullivan's site for Slater Cotton... they had a post for something called "Grant's Mill" and sure enough it is the mill on Carpenter Street on the West Side (my page about it). Not sure how long they have had this on the drawing board (judging by the site, it is barely fleshed out) but this company finished Slater Cotton in a down economy when we all thought it would stall. Who knows if they will move forward with Grant's.

Any one know what the new construction going on at WAMPANOAG MALL is in East Providence, across from Greggs? Heard rumors it might be a Stop & Shop, but unconfirmed.

A branch of Webster Bank. Speaking of that neighborhood, I tried PJ's pub recently, former home of Eddie's Irish Haven. It is a nice clean neighborhood bar with decent sandwiches and live music.

Just a quick (and overdue) note, Grant's Mill has been leasing for a couple months now, and I always see a good number of cars in the parking lot when I drive by. I'm not sure what they're occupancy is, but people are there for sure.

Behind the 7 Eleven on Atwells, across the street from the old GE plant, where the aluminum shelter with the graffiti American Flag on the side used to be. What is going on there?
