It's not exactly common knowledge but it's been well documented and displayed for years already.

Subliminal messages require more than just that one instance of hidden context to be of use but none the less, a young Disney artist did this as a practical joke.

To be honest, symbolism, allusion, homage, and other subliminal messaging are rampant in all works of art. Difficult to see at first but impossible to miss once you know what to look for.
