Cityville at Southwestern Medical District

Cityville at Southwest Medical District will be located on 16 acres in the Medical District near Parkland Memorial Hospital and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. The first phase ot the mixed-use project will have 263 apartment units and 43,000 sf of retail space contained in four and five story buildings. Groundbreaking is scheduled to take place in September. DART is also scheduled to open an elevated train station at the intersection of Motor St. and Bengal St. in 2009.

University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas will take their designs for a new $20M lab and research facility to the board of regents for final approval in about a month. Plans call for a three story, 75,00 sf building that could be expanded before construction begins. Ground breaking could take place in January/February 2006 with completion in 2007.

University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas

Another news article about the new research facility planned for UTSW. Preconstuction work is underway while final designs are going through the approval process. Construction will begin in early 2006 and completed in November 2007. This article says that the building will be four stories and still a total of 75,000 sf.
