I'm totally ignorant about this.  What are you learning and what are your career opportunities?

Basically, all aspects of planning right now: city planning, metropolitan/regional planning, transportation planning, etc. A lot of project management type things as well as "smart growth" planning policies, "good" developments, etc.

I hope to get hired by a DOT (either RI, or Mass) or even a transit authority like RIPTA or MBTA, or theres always city/town planner jobs.

I think a good solution would be to raise the parking fees to the highest one in the system. This would be fair to all commuters. At present Alewife has the highest rate of 5.00 for 24 hours of parking. Here are the new rates for rapid transit stations.

Blue Line

Wonderland $2.50 to $3.00

Ocean Ave. $2.50 to $3.00

Beachmont $2.50 to $3.00

Suffolk Downs $2.50 to $3.00

Orient Heights $2.50 to $3.00

Green Line

Riverside $2.75 to $3.25

Woodland $2.50 to $3.00

Waban $2.50 to $3.00

Eliot $2.50 to $3.00

Chestnut Hill $2.50 to $3.00

Lechmere $3.00 to $3.50

Red Line

Alewife $4.50 to $5.00

North Quincy $2.50 to $3.00

Wollaston $2.50 to $3.00

Braintree $3.00 to $3.50

Quincy Adams $3.00 to $3.50

Quincy Ctr. $3.00 to $3.50

Orange Line

Sullivan $3.00 to $3.50

Wellington $3.00 to $3.50

Malden Ctr. $3.00 to $3.50

Oak Grove $3.00 to $3.50

Forest Hills $3.50 to $4.00

Mattapan High Speed Line

Milton $2.50 to $3.00

Watertown Express Lot

$2.50 to $3.00

It is unfair for one lot to pay almost a 1.00 or more avg than other lots. I belive there should be incentives for people who car pool ride there bikes or use a bus connection to the station. Maybe 50 cents off the fare at the station you enter. I live in Lowell and take the CR to get to school everyday. I do not drive to the station I eaither walk or take the bus which is ust as convinent as driving.

The reason for increased price is because there is a higher demand. It's the T's crappy version of market prices. Personally, I think all parking lots should be at full market prices...

People can ask themselves: Would you pay more to park if it meant spaces were more easily available later into the morning?
