MPLS: New MacPhail Center for Music

The new MacPhail Center for Music is the creation of James Dayton. The new building will be located downtown at 5th Avenue S. and S. 2nd Street, near the new Guthrie Theater and Mill City Museum. Currently, 3,000 of MacPhail's 6,500 students use the downtown classrooms.

If I'm not mistaken, this project is going to be across the street from the depot, on the corned behind where Noche is located?

If so, good planning. I was wondering why they only developed 3/4 of the block with offices and townhomes and left an empty spot on that corner.

Does anyone know of a time frame for this project? It seems as if most the projects around the river are going up in less than one year.

This is incedible and will add a much needed design element in the Mills area...I'll get to see it everyday from my place. Can't wait!
