I just read everybody's kind words and wanted to say "thanks" for welcoming me to the board. Doormanpoet has said before that this is a quality group of people and he is correct. Again, thanks for the warm welcome.

I want to attend the next meeting of the group. However, I will be gone from Sept. 4 through Sept. 11 on a major trip. Stops will include, in order, Chattanooga, Athens, Macon, Jacksonville, Savannah, Charleston, Columbia, Charlotte, Asheville and Knoxville. As obsessed with the man-made environment as I am, this sojourn could prove overwhelmingly exciting. Hope the meeting is scheduled at a time I can attend.

Be sure to check Wednesday's TCP for a development story. Page 11 of the business section. We won't have a rendering but will get one in the paper soon. The building, slated to be about 10 stories, is not a done deal.

I suspect it has something to do with the corner of Woodmont and Harding Rd.

If the deal is done, and the rendering I've seen holds, Belle Meade is in for a treat.
