Does anyone know the status of the new terminal at MYR? I heard the price was recently reduced and that required taking out some features.

Very little interest was given to the idea of a Grand Strand subforum in the thread concerning that issue, so I just let it go. If this is indeed the start of an interest in MB, then that forum may not be far off.

There's an article in the MB newspaper today about the terminals...they said the new $200m terminal may open in 2008, but these details depend somewhat on what they choose to do with the old terminal. For example, Hooters Air has suggested making the old terminal the intl terminal (they may begin nonstop flights to/from London next year).

Non stop flights from Myrtle Beach to London would be quite fascinating.

I personally think they need to scrap the airport and move it to land between Myrtle Beach and Conway.

If a new international airport was to be built, would it most likely be along the Conway bypass?

I would like to see the current terminal maximized to its fullest potential. As Myrtle Beach and surrounding areas continue to grow, you want to have enough air traffic the facility can handle.

I doubt it. Alot of that is through swampland. An airport would not jive well with that.
