The Carlton at Myers Park

Does anyone have any information on the Carlton? It is the large brown brick highrise right near Providence and Providence and Queens and Queens intersection...

When was it built? How in the world did they get it approved? I am amazed the Myers Park people would allow something that tall to be built, even years ago.

I believe it has been there since the 70s and was approved and built around the same time as the Selwyn Towers. In those days, Myers Park while considered a nice neighborhood, did not have the importance it has now. There were many abandoned houses in the area, including Queens Rd and Queens Road West at the time.
