Currently under construction, the tower is scheduled for completion in 2006.

The new tower will be connected to the old Battle House Hotel, closed since the 70s, but under renovation. Some of the lower floors of the tower will contain additional rooms for the hotel.

Mobile should be proud of such a structure in a city that size. I do hope they add some 500-600 foot buildings to fill in because it reall does look lonely standing there.

RSA Battle House update... This is a partial skyline photo taken August 14th. The tower was up to the 31st floor - taller than the AmSouth tower (slim white tall), even though it looks like it might be shorter at this angle.

The tower exterior is nearing completion -- there were significant delays due to hurricanes.

The original links are dead. Here are those images again:

Thanks for sharing your pictures. This tower will certainly be a great landmark for Mobile. I'm hoping to stay at the adjoining Battle House Hotel when it reopens this summer.
